The moment I got out of the car I saw 1970s VW Beetle cruising down the road. I bumbled my camera but I'm pretty sure I got it. Even though I was relatively confident I decided to stick around for a while and try and get some more with both my 6d and my AE-1 just because whenever I shoot film there's always a bit of doubt. Unfortunately when I was unloading the film I discovered I had failed to load it properly so we'll never know. Fortunately I still have these.

If anyone owns a VW Beetle or other interesting car and wants to take a trip to the coast I'd love to shoot it a bit.

I had the day off so I grabbed my camera and hopped in my car. I didn't really have any plan but I ended up taking 36 out to Florence. I've never been that way before and it was really a pleasant drive. Lots of rural communities along the way that seem to have gotten left behind as the rest of the world progressed forward. I'll definitely be making more trips that direction.

I've been trying to get a specific shot of the crescent moon and the grain tower for a couple days now. Each day has presented it's own unique problems but yesterday still turned out pretty well. I was driving over after work watch the moon begin to slip behind a bank of clouds. As soon as I got to where I wanted to shoot from I raced to set up my tripod. I heard the train coming and I could see that I only had moments left with the moon so I decided to abandon the shot I had in mind. 60 seconds after this the moon was no longer visible so I packed up and returned home to eat. Not upset with the results but still haven't got what I want.
